Devotion
I was going to browse on what devotion to share in my work. Then suddenly, pooof! My facebook friend posted this. This is very inspiring. :)
Surprise, surprise!
Yep, that’s how the disciples reacted when they knew that Judas was going to betray Jesus. When Jesus told His disciples that one of them was going to betray Him they “started to look at one another—- uncertain which one He was speaking about.” (Jn 13:22). Ladies and gentlemen, Judas, apparently, did not look like that freaky guy in the movies with dark, long hair and even darker circles around his eyes. Nope. He certainly looked and acted the part of being a disciple for them not to notice him.
As for us, the Bible calls us to “Test ourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves.” (2 Cor. 13:5). To know a counterfeit from a genuine peso bill, you have to know what’s real; you have to know the truth. Likewise, if you want to examine yourself, your authenticity as a Christian, base it on the Truth, God’s Word and not on what tradition says.
It’s better to be surprised in this lifetime than to be surprised in the afterlife.
